Story maps are templates that provide students a concrete framework for identifying the elements of narrative stories. http://forpd.ucf.edu/strategies/stratStoryM.html Venn Diagrams Venn diagrams, a type of graphic organizer, can help students describe and compare attributes and characteristics of things, people, places, events, or ideas. http://www.readingquest.org/strat/compare.html
Vocabulary Graphic Organizers – This contains many different graphic organizers that can be used for vocabulary instruction. Semantic Feature Analysis allows students to examine related words and concepts by using particular criteria that allows the concepts to be compared. A Word Map is a visual organizer that helps students engage with and think about vocabulary. Vocabulary Word Box is similar to a word map.
