To download, simply follow these steps:

Charter

The Cougar Knight Chess Club endeavors to be a positive social atmosphere where students play chess in a competitive, yet friendly environment. The primary focus will be that the chess club serves to motivate students to reach for their full potential in all academic areas and in life.

Chess has been proven to build critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as, teach students to learn how to win and lose admirably.

Our club motto: "As in life, win graciously, lose humbly, and live to play another day," matches our goal to help kids be good sports in life and to turn even loss into an opportunity for learning and building positive character.

Rules

	Cougar Knight Chess Club members shall abide by the code of conduct for Green Cove Springs Junior High.
	Cougar Knights shall respect club equipment and other players.
	Cougar Knights shall always show good sportsmanship. This includes not 'dissing' players of lesser ability and instead encouraging them to improve their game.
	Cougar Knights shall assist in cleaning up at the end of chess club sessions.
	Failing or near failing grades in any subject may effect the student's participation in the Cougar Knight's Chess club. The final determination may be made by one or a combination of the following parties: the student's parents, the teacher, and/ or the administration.
